Nicki Shipp

I am a Dorset based glass and metal artist. I work mainly at Sandy Hill studios in Corfe Castle. I am a part of the Boilerhouse Gallery, which is a collective of Dorset artists.

I was born in Cornwall and grew up in various places as my father was serving in the Royal Navy as a Submariner. I have always lived and worked by the sea and I am inspired by the architecture and metal structures found in dockyards and coastal boatyards.

I love imperfections, rusty metal , old cranes and pylons. I also am drawn to life under the sea, unusual sea creatures , shipwrecks and seed pods.
